About our studio

We are Generalist Architects and Designers that focus on commercial and multi-family residential work addressing:

  • Renovations, Revitalization, & Re-use

  • Public & Non-Profit spaces

  • Disaster relief planning & recovery

We are problem solvers who aspire to serve the underserved. Humane Adaptation: How can we be a model for stewardship, and can we re-imagine and re-build our environments with less expense, less time, less friction, less sacrifice, less destruction, less resources?

Why do we do what we do?

  • Do something for someone that they cannot do for themselves.

  • Help serve an unmet need

  • Help others see the hidden value in what they have, and that it can be done within their budget

  • Increase the quality of life for others who are most vulnerable

  • Help educate the untrained about architecture and its social and environmental impact

The name "Re-built" refers to something that has been restored or reconstructed, often after suffering damage, a set back, loss, or not cared for over a period of time. Architecture can be a means to better understand our history and repair, not only for our built environment, but for the heritage of our communities as well. It’s the path we travel that makes us who we are today. We are not defined by our past, we are built by it, and it’s what we are going to do with that experience together as a community that makes humanity so inspiring.

We believe, as architects, we have a unique ability to visualize and invoke humanity with an emotional response from our physical environment.

We aspire to provide better value using in-depth analysis, efficient delivery, while using available means and methods. Quality does not necessarily equal expensive.

Through our extensive experience in analysis, research, exploration, and design, we develop strategies that can best provide an environment for living. When necessary, we collaborate with specialists from various fields to ensure the right solutions are brought to the table. Good design can be present at any budget.

Our Pledge

Building the world we want to see starts with the local communities in which we live, play, and work. Therefore, in order to support growth in our neighborhoods, Studio Re-built pledges to donate or reuse material when possible, time and labor towards disaster relief work, and pledge 2% of our fees to local nonprofit organizations.
